• Quaint & historic. I love the old town feel, the friendliness of most of the community. • Fun, funky Pahoa Town. Still maintains quaintness. • It has remained country, while developing better services for its people. • Pahoa town has this incredible personal feel to it that sustains this feeling over the years. The buildings haven't changed much; the wooden sidewalks are too cool. Old hippies with gray pony tails walking down the street. It's like stepping into a time warp. • Ambiance. Potential. Punatics. • QUAINTNESS. • The small town, unique, ambiance; the true Hawaiian, HISTORIC feeling. The progressive, radical, alternate thinking; PUNATIC AND PROUD OF M! • Love the old school Hawaii vibe. Hope we can keep it that way. • It is charming and many people here are wonderful. • The small -town feel, of the town. The history, the people. • Its uniqueness, small town and not overly commercialized. • The old feel, the construction, boardwalks, lends to history and the quaintness. • The old downtown look, but sidewalks are unsafe. • Love the historic wooden building and walkways along strip. • Laid back atmosphere. Small businesses with some variety to them and (in main street at least), no national chains /franchises — those are the death of small town charm and character. The funky old downtown boardwalk sidewalk and buildings. It's unique, it's different, it feels like a walking a piece of history from plantation days. • Small town, but able to get most of what you need. • I like the quaintness & picturesque part of Pahoa in the "old" town area. The storefronts from the former mom and pop stores are still (barely) standing and it adds such character to the town - more enjoyable to walk through. • I love that not much has changed in the actual village since I was little in the 1980's. • The character of the town and some of the town's characters! • I want Pahoa to remain a small village, not liking all the development -and certainly NOT interested in development outside of the main Village area. 10
