As of July 1, 2013 <br />Christine was promoted to oversee the East Hawai‘i CSE program. In 1993 Christine began <br />her career with Coordinated Services as a Community Service Aid II in the Puna district. During <br />her years with the Elderly Activities Division “Pi‘i” has held various positions ranging from Community <br />Service Worker I, Community Service Worker III, CSPA, and temporary assignments in <br />Program Director II and III positions. With her many years of supervisory experience and team effort <br />approach Christine will continue to serve our Kupuna with integrity and Aloha. Christine can be reached <br />at the East Hawai‘i CSE office at (808) 961-8777. <br /> <br />CSE has a new Community Service Program Assistant in North Hilo. Karen Kotaki was recently promoted <br />to her new position on August 16, 2013. She has been working in the Pāpa‘aloa office since January 2013, <br />and with CSE since 2002 providing all of CSE’s valuable services to the community. We wish her well and <br />congratulate her on a well deserved promotion. Reyn Maeno for your 5 years of service. <br /> <br /> <br />COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I OFFERS HOME REPAIR LOANS <br /> <br />The Office of Housing and Community Development is currently accepting applications to its’ <br />Residential Emergency Repair Program (RERP). The RERP loans are available to low-and <br />moderate-income homeowners who are interested in repairing and improving their primary residence. <br />The RERP loan can be used for roof repairs, electrical and plumbing work, sewer improvements, termite <br />treatment and damages caused by termites or wood rot and the installation of a solar water heating system. <br />Loans range from $2,500 to $25,000 at 3% interest. Loan payments are deferred for 15 years. Applicants 62 <br />years or older or with special needs, may have 30% of the principal balance of the loan forgiven as a grant. <br />For more information or an application contact Brandi Ah Yo at (808) 959-4642.
