Description: Project Budget: • Interim Project 2013 # 39 "MT View Gym & Adjourning Buildings Roofing and Gutters" $200,000. A/C Tasks Completed to date: A/C Next Action Item: • Include a community meeting room, a certified kitchen, covered assembly area, handicapped access entries, restrooms, public parking, picnic area, and all other features normally included in community center developments 7) Create a safe swimming area at Pohoiki coastal park A/C Champion: Oshi Simsarian Description: Project Budget: • 2013037 "Pohoiki Swimming Area - Feasibility & initial planning study" $40,000. A/C Tasks Completed to date: • Group formed to address issues (Oshi, Luana Jones, Bird) • Met with Councilman Hagan and Kern and presented ideas • CIP request for funding for feasibility study (currently in the budget) • Met with Park and Recreation who wrote a support letter to Rep. Russell Ruderman • Discussed issue with Rep. Russell Ruderman who requested $250K in funding at the last session - support but did not get funding • 7/13 Group met with Rep. Russell Ruderman at Pohoiki and discussed the community vision and how to proceed from here. • Group members testified at County Council Committee meeting where Councilman Hagan and Kern voiced strong support for the swimming area. • The County Council at the Committee hearing voted unanimously in favor A/C Next Action Item: • Continue to purse funding 8) Volcano Village - Community Development Plan A/CChampion: Patti (Sher Glass is Planning Team Leader) Description: Develop a Community Development Plan Project Budget: A/C Tasks Completed to date: • Volcano Developed CDP and advanced to a Draft Strategic Plan A/C Next Action Item: • 30 action items identified with priority under review • Action Statements are being written by various members of community • Goal to have Plan to County Planning Dept by end of year
