9) Mountain View - Community Village Center Plan A/C Champion: Patti and Sharon Frank Commendador is planning team leader. Description: Develop a Community Development Plan Project Budget: A/C Tasks Completed to Date: • Working Groups formed • Survey distributed to community, which asks for input from the community about the purpose of a long range plan, a description of the preferred future of Mountain View, community desires, deficiencies in infrastructure, and specific needs for the community • Monthly Meetings Conducted A/C Next Action Item: • Support the development of a Mountain View Community Village Center Plan - so far the planning area doesn't extend into the residential subdivisions that are served by the traditional village area 10) KAPONO (Kalapana- Kapoho) -Community Development Plan A/C Champion: Farris Etterlee Description: Develop a Community Development Plan Project Budget: A/C Tasks Completed to date: • Encourage community participation - 323 responded to community survey to set priorities • Formed KAPONO Organization and voted in Board Members • Submitted to IRS 501c3 Forms A/C Next Action Item: • Quarterly Trash Pickup entire Red Road • Community Outreach Programs to gain community interest 11) Support Puna Community Medical Center (PCDP 3.3.1,3.3.3a, 3.4.2a) A/C Champion: Rene Siracusa Description: Build Puna Community Medical Center - The Urgent /Acute Care Clinic in Pahoa Marketplace has now seen more than 23,000 patients over 10,500+ visits since opening on Feb. 1, 2009. The clinic is now averaging about 500 patients /month. When County, State and private businesses were closed for Hurricane Flossie, the clinic stayed open so that help would be available during the expected emergency. Project Budget: A/C Tasks Completed to date: • State Land Identified PCMC has received donations from Nanawale CA ($1,000) and Hawaiian Beaches CA ($1,293) to support the Building Fund for its proposed Emergency Room OCT 2013 - 3 fundraising concerts planned island -wide - internationally acclaimed jazz guitarist Andrea Razzauti and backup musicians.
