<br />NORTH KOHALA COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT PLAN <br />ACTION COMMITTEE MINUTES <br />Monday, October 14, 2013, 5:00 pm <br />North Kohala Senior Center, 54-3900 Akoni Pule Hwy., Kohala, HI 96755 <br />ATTENDANCE <br />1. Members Present: John Winter, Faith Yates, Susan Fischer, Collin Kaholo, <br />Frank Cipriani, Christopher Keone MacKillop, and Jon Adams. <br />2. Members absent: Joe Carvalho. <br />Also present was Terry Dunlap from the Office of the Hawaii County Planning <br />Department. <br />3. Public Attendance: Diane Kanealii, Roger Kanealii, Lucy Pasco, Toni <br />Withington, Lynda Wallach, Jojo Tanimoto, Dave Hirt, Keith Wallis, Dave <br />Richardson, Michael Pasco, and Daniel Trumpy, Paul Fischer. <br />I. CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 5:05 pm by Chair, <br />John Winter. <br />II. APPROVAL OF MINUTES: Minutes of the Meeting of September 9, 2013. <br />Minutes of the September 9, 2013 meeting were reviewed and discussed by <br />the AC Members. A motion to approve the minutes was made and <br />seconded, and were unanimously approved with changes submitted by the <br />AC members. <br />III. STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS: <br />Jojo Tanimoto made a comment about the public access proposed at Kohala <br />Kai subdivision. Daniel Trumpy, who grows organic produce, said he <br />submitted an Important Agricultural Lands application for his farm activities <br />and processes. Diane Kanealii said that she had concerns about public <br />access through Kohala Kai subdivision. Toni Withington mentioned that the <br />subcommittee is recommending solar to provide electricity at Kapaa Park. <br />Toni also said that the Hisaoka gym roof leaks and that this gym is used for <br />an emergency shelter. <br />IV. SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS: <br />a. Growth Management No report. <br />b. Public Access - Keone MacKillop provided the subcommittee report and <br />said that the County did not comment on the status of the Kohala Kai <br />Public Access Plan. Keone said that there were two letters approved at <br />1 <br /> <br />
