<br />39 <br />2.Amended the agenda by deleting items #3 & 4. <br />40 <br />3.The meeting was recessed while we waited for the Planning Director to arrive. <br />41 <br />4.The meeting was called back to order by the Chair. <br />42 <br /> <br />43 <br />BUSINESS OF COMMITTEE <br />44 <br />Duane Kanuha, Planning Director, presented comments on the review of the Kona CDP as it applies to <br />45 <br />Chapters 23 (Subdivision) & Chapter 25 (Zoning). The following points were discussed: <br />46 <br />Staff has been involved with due process and is seeking consistency between County of Hawaii <br />· <br />47 <br />Chapters 23 (Subdivision Code) and 25 (Zoning Code) and the KCDP. <br />48 <br />The three page document has proposals for amendments and the large document is a synopsis of <br />· <br />49 <br />the same information. <br />50 <br />For the next hour, Keola Childs, at the director’s request, provided a synopsis of the proposed <br />· <br />51 <br />amendments for above referenced codes. Discussion included KCDP mandates and how the <br />52 <br />County’s codes assure that the adopted regulations are consistent with the items specified in the <br />53 <br />KCDP. <br />54 <br />Two (2) ad-hoc sub-committees of four (4) members each were created to deal with the sections of <br />55 <br />Chapter 25 as proposed for amendment. The subdivision code will be reviewed after the zoning code. <br />56 <br />The first ad-hoc sub-committee consists of Hiram Rivera (chair), Elaine Fukushima, Keoki <br />· <br />57 <br />Schattauer and Douglas Payne.
