<br /> <br />COMMITTEE ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN <br />Friday, February 14, 2014, 10:00 a.m. <br />Convened at <br />Waimea Center Suite 2C <br />65-1158 Mamalahoa Highway, Kamuela <br /> <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />The meeting was called to order by Chairperson Carol Kitaoka at 10:12 a.m. <br /> <br />ROLL CALL <br />PRESENT EXCUSED <br /> Carol Kitaoka, Chair Hazel Beck <br /> Katie Nova, Vice-Chair Cyd Hoffeld <br /> Farrah-Marie Gomes, Secretary Elena Cabatu (ex-officio) <br /> Mele Spencer, Treasurer <br /> Kim Schneider <br /> Brooke Derby <br /> Margaret Masunaga (ex-officio) <br /> <br /> A quorum was present. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />The agenda was approved as submitted. <br /> <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Minutes from the January 10, 2014 meeting were approved as submitted. <br /> <br />TREASURER’S REPORT <br />Treasurer’s Report by Accounting Codes, Treasurer’s Report by Function and Budget Fiscal Year 2014- <br />2015 were distributed. Treasurer’s Report approved as submitted. <br /> <br />$5,000.00 for Teen Dating Violence Prevention Project from Council Member Dru Kanuha was added – <br />total received $10,000.00. $1,500.00 is expected from Council Member Dennis Fresh Onishi. Still <br />waiting to hear from Council Members Greggor Ilagan and Valerie Poindexter. Per Lee Lord funds can <br />be used only for Teen Dating Violence Prevention Project. Breakdown by each council member funds is <br />necessary as Prosecutor’s Office must report back to Council on how funds were spent. Carol reminded <br />that expenses must be approved prior to spending. <br /> <br />As Mitch has asked that CSW complete a contract with Jill Murray, Carol will contact Fiscal Office to do <br />a contract with her. Dr. Murray came to Hawaii before so there should be a previous contract to follow. <br /> <br />Hawaii State Commission on the Status of Women will contribute $3,000.00 for Teen Dating Violence <br />Prevention Project. Per Elena, work with Executive Director Cathy Betts to access funds. <br /> <br />Mele pointed out that the 5% cut is reflected in FY2014-2015 budget.
