<br />STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC <br />None. <br /> <br />CORRESPONDENCE <br />None. <br /> <br />REPORTS <br />A.LIAISON - Carol reported for Elena. <br /> <br />1.Hawaii State Commission on the State of Women <br /> <br />a.CSW will work with Cathy Betts to tap into the $3000.00 for Jill Murray. <br /> <br />b.HSCSW is working on a bid to submit for the 2015 National Commission the Status of <br /> <br />Women Conference. <br />c.HSCSW will partner with Ready To Run and Teach a Girl To Lead Program for the 2014 <br /> <br />Year of the Girl. <br />d.HSCSW did not meet in December and will meet in March. <br /> <br /> <br />2.Legislative Update <br /> <br />Women’s Legislative Caucus is tracking legislative issues. CSW would like to know what key <br />bills need testimony so that members may submit testimony. Kim will check with State <br />Commission on the Status of Women. <br /> <br />3.Other <br /> <br />Neighborhood Place of Puna contacted Elena and requested 1800 re-usable bags for its <br />school supply distribution. Motion made to decline the request/Seconded/Motion passed. <br />Carol will notify Elena. <br /> <br />B.HEALTH <br /> <br /> Women’s Health Month – No report. <br /> <br />C.EDUCATION <br /> <br />1.Equal Pay <br /> <br />April is Equal Pay month. Radio spots were done in the past. Motion made to spend not more <br />than $500.00 to purchase PayDay candy bars/Seconded/Motion passed. Candy bars will be <br />priced at Costco, Wal-Mart and K-Mart. Brooke will design the message and Farrah will provide <br />and print the stickers for each candy bar. Distribution list along with final decisions will be made <br />at the next meeting; distribution on April 11. It was agreed to have Hazel speak on Sherry <br />Bracken’s radio program. Kim to do a press release; Carol to contact Ted Dixon (Hawaii Tribune <br />Herald); Margaret to contact Karen Stanton (Hawaii 24/7); Kim to contact Tracey Fosso (West <br />Hawaii Today); Elena to contact Star Advertiser via State CSW; Brooke to contact Civil Beat and <br />Huffington Post. Other suggestions were radio spots and ads in the newspapers. <br />University of Hawaii Commission on the Status of Women will be having a series of Brown Bag <br />sessions broadcasted via HITS. UHH will host April’s “Advocate for Yourself in the Workplace”. <br />Equal pay will be incorporated. <br /> <br />2.Urgent Services Directory for Families <br /> <br />Printing of 10,000 copies completed by Office Max. Total cost was $1069.78 so we did not use <br />$380 of CSW funds. Members will take copies for distribution. Prosecutor’s Office will store <br />boxes – 3 in Hilo and 3 in Kona. <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
