<br />Carol stated that whoever gives money will be able to have Jill Murray go to <br />the schools in their district. <br /> <br />Farrah-Marie will follow up with Val Poindexter. Hazel stated that Katie drafted <br />an e-mail, which she sent to Brenda and she will share that with Farrah-Marie. <br /> <br />Farrah-Marie stated that I came up in a discussion with some of the different <br />council members regarding contingency funds that if the funding goes through <br />an established county department, it may be easier so we will be asking them <br />to send the funds to the Prosecutor’s Office. <br /> <br />Carol followed up with Fresh; he already gave his money to the Golf Course <br />and to other projects. Fresh suggested we apply for a grant. It’s suggested <br />that we find a non-profit agency/organization to apply for a grant. <br /> <br />Farrah-Marie explained that the grant application is due January of every year. <br />It’s not an open recruitment so if we apply for it, it would be for next school <br />year. We would need to look for a non-profit who would be willing to sponsor <br />it. The non-profit would be asking on our behalf which may be difficult; most of <br />the non-profit apply to these grants. We would need to find someone to write <br />the grant which would be around 80 to 160 pages which is a huge <br />commitment. It’s a very competitive grant. <br /> <br />Discussion on Jill Murray’s timetable: <br />Carol explained that we need $25,000 minimum to go for three days. <br />Jill Murray charges $3,718 per day. We need an extra $5,000 to get her here <br />and everybody else who gives $5,000 will have their district visited by Jill <br />Murray. <br /> <br />Suggestions on how to maximize her time: afternoon sessions, parent night, <br />community meetings. <br />We should try to get her on Sunday and she starts the next day. <br />We’ll need to work out the best schedule to maximize her time. <br /> <br /> Carol has books which she will distribute after the meeting. <br /> <br /> Elena will request $5,000 from the State Commission and leave it to Cathy to <br /> decide whether the Commission will support those who have committed <br /> funding. <br /> <br /> Katie stated that we need to do a lot of publicity to the community <br /> <br /> We should aim for getting answers from everybody by next meeting. <br /> <br /> 5.
