Terry Dunlap suggested that we ask Chauncey <br />183 <br />Wong Yuen to assist the action committee in communicating with the State Highways Division. <br />184 <br /> <br />185 <br />Keola Childs spoke on the possibility of impact fees and discussed his conversation with past <br />186 <br />County Council member, Mr. Pete Hoffman. Discussion included a range of options that the <br />187 <br />action committee could investigate. <br />188 <br /> <br />189 <br />Douglas asked whether an ad-hoc committee should be developed? No, just a regular sub- <br />190 <br />committee and part of Hirams committee. <br />191 <br /> <br />192 <br />Margaret Masunaga noted that Mr. Chen, a volunteer from the community, who has a background <br />193 <br />in economic and is associated with California at Berkley, has offered to help the action committee. <br />194 <br /> <br />195 <br />Curtis Tyler spoke on various highway improvements and the importance of planning and <br />196 <br />improvements. K-K parkway, this road will never be built to Federal Highway Standards. <br />197 <br />Federal Highway will not participate if the highway is not a four (4) lane highway or a segmented <br />198 <br />highway. The road must be built in its entire length as one project. Recommends we move on to <br />199 <br />an achievable project. Focus on projects that can be accomplished. <br />200 <br /> <br />201 <br />Terry Dunlap explained the appropriation list and how it differs from the bond list. <br />202 <br /> <br />203 <br />Discussions on the CIP priorities followed with these top recommendations: <br />204 <br />Makai arterial parkway: Kuakini to Pottery Terrace and Kuakini Extension (Item e and 4B <br />· <br />205 <br />on concurrency map) <br />206 <br />Mauka Makai connectors: Lako Street and Nani Kailua Drive <br />· <br />207 <br />Kailua Redevelopment TOD Village Scale Plan <br />· <br />208 <br />209 <br />The action committee will vote on these priorities at the next meeting. <br />210 <br />211 <br />Keola requested that the action committee request that at least monies be provided to do the <br />212 <br />necessary research to determine the viability of the design corridors and identify any problems <br />213 <br />that may exist. This could determine feasibility for the road corridors to be considered. We need <br /> 6 <br /> <br />
