6. DISCUSSION REGARDING "THEMES" FOR REPORT <br /> <br />The Commission previously identified three themes for the report: Energy, <br />Finance, and Technology. Discussion is anticipated regarding whether any <br />additional themes should be added, and how these themes should be addressed <br />in the meetings with the departments and /or in the report. <br /> <br />7. DISCUSSION REGARDING FORMATION OF SUBCOMMITTEES TO MEET <br />WITH VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS AND AGENCIES FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br />GATHERING INFORMATION FOR THE FINAL REPORT <br /> <br />The Commission will discuss its formation of various subcommittees to <br />investigate and gather information from various departments and agencies <br />of the County of Hawai'i to assist in the preparation of the final report. The <br />scope of each such investigation and each member's authority will be defined <br />at the meeting. The Commission anticipates devising uniform questions to be <br />posed to each department. <br /> <br />8. DISCUSSION /ACTION REGARDING APPROACH TO TAKE TO TIMELY <br />ACCOMPLISH MANDATE OF THE COST OF GOVERNMENT COMMISSION <br /> <br />Includes discussion /action on the methodology and sequence of analyzing the <br />departments /boards /commissions to determine what information is needed and <br />how to gain that information. Establish timeline for submittal of subcommittee <br />reports and drafting recommendations to meet the deadline for submission of the <br />final report. <br /> <br />9. If audio stream between Kona and Hilo is lost for more than <br />a short period of time, the meeting will be terminated.
