<br />Motion to authorize the purchase of PayDay candybars to highlight Equal Pay Month at <br />events was made. Seconded. Approved. <br /> <br />2. Voter Registration <br /> No report. <br /> <br />3. Teen Dating Violence Prevention <br /> Update on bringing Jill Murray to Hawaii <br /> Elena will do a press release. <br />Carol will follow up with Dr. Murray for posters. Posters will displayed in classrooms, <br />healthrooms, cafeterias, etc. HSCSW will print and laminate posters. <br /> Cyd suggested that students be encouraged to wear denim on April 24, Denim Day. <br />Carol is waiting for approval from Purchasing Division to bring Dr. Jill Murray to Hawaii. <br /> The following is Dr. Murray’s schedule <br /> Sunday, April 20 Fly into Kona Airport – Carol to pick up and take to Sheraton <br /> Monday, April 21 Konawaena High School – Carol to transport <br /> 8:25 am - 2:30 pm (four periods/300+ students) <br /> Will use school library <br /> Tuesday, April 22 Dale/Margaret/Katie will transport to Ka’u <br />Ka’u Intermediate School – Mele to meet Jill at school and into Hilo <br /> 9:00 am – TBD <br /> Ka’u High School – Mele to transport <br /> 10:10 am – 2:15 pm (four sessions) <br /> Possible late afternoon/early evening event-Jessie Marquez and Mele <br /> Will stay with Mele/Elena instead of hotel (Merrie Monarch week) <br /> Wednesday, April 23 Keaau High School – Cyd – Mele to transport to Keaau High <br /> 8:00 am – 1:30 pm <br /> University of Hawaii Hilo – Farrah-Marie <br /> Early evening reception with County Council, judges, invited guests <br /> at Aupuni Center-Conference Room <br /> Thursday, April 24 Honokaa High – Farrah – Elena to transport to Honokaa <br /> 8:00 am – 11 am <br /> Parker School, Kanu O Ka Aina, HI Preparatory Academy, and Kohala <br />1 or 2 sessions. <br />Suggestion was made to bus students from Kohala High, Parker <br />and Kanu O Ka Aina to HPA’s theatre or gym. Margaret Wille’s <br />funds will be used to pay for buses.
