Merit Board of Appeals February 18, 2015 <br />there's going to be a motion for untimeliness, that it can come before the actual <br />appeal hearing. <br />Chair Kuewa stated that he looked at it and thought it was timely. He asked <br />Ms. Rabago if she was going to make any motion. Ms. Rabago that she would not <br />be making a motion. <br />Motion: Chair Kuewa moved to set the hearing date of March 18, 2015, at 11:00 a.m. in <br />the Department of Human Resources Conference Room. Seconded by <br />Ms. Rabago. <br />The voice vote, was as follows: <br />AYES: <br />Board Members Otake, Rabago, <br />and Chair Kuewa — 3. <br />NOES: <br />None. <br />ABSENT: <br />Member Nahuina - 1. <br />EXCUSED: <br />None. <br />NEW BUSINESS The Chair directed the Board to proceed to the next order of business, New <br />Item 6): Business. <br />(There was none.) <br />UNFINISHED The Chair directed the Board to proceed to the next order of business, <br />BUSINESS (Item 7): Unfinished Business. <br />(There was none.) <br />DIRECTOR'S REPORT The Chair directed the Board to proceed to the next order of business, <br />Item 8): Director's Report. <br />ITEMS OF CURRENT INTEREST <br />Ms. Toriano stated that the only update concerns the Department's Rules, which <br />the Mayor approved. It was transmitted to the Office of the County Clerk, who <br />will be filing it with the Lieutenant Governor's Office. We're on track, and the <br />effective date would be March 1, 2015. <br />At this time, Chair Kuewa turned the Board's attention to the matter of <br />Mr. Kelvin Ono, which they had previously discussed. He asked Mr. Patel who <br />would be representing the County in this case. Mr. Patel replied that he would be <br />representing the County. <br />Page 3 <br />
