<br />LEEWARD PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I <br /> <br />MINUTES <br />AUGUST 20, 2015 <br /> <br />The Leeward Planning Commission met in regular session at 9:32 a.m. in the West Hawai‘i Civic <br />Center, Community Center, Building G, 74-5044 Ane Keohokālole Highway, Kailua-Kona, <br />Hawai‘i, with Chairman Brandi Beaudet presiding. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Brandi Beaudet, Collin Kaholo, Barbara Nobriga, <br />Sonny Shimaoka, Keith Unger and Thomas Whittemore <br /> <br />ABSENT AND EXCUSED: Scott Church <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: Danny Patel (Counsel for the Commission), Bobby Command (Deputy <br />Planning Director), Jeff Darrow (Planner), Maija Jackson (Planner), Christian Kay (Planner) and <br />Noriko Sauer (Commission Secretary) <br /> <br />And approximately ten people from the public in attendance. <br /> <br />A quorum was present. Chair Beaudet called the meeting to order, and introduced the <br />Commissioners and staff to members of the public. He also described the procedure for public <br />testimony. <br /> <br />STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC – No statements were presented under this section of the <br />agenda. <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br /> <br /> <br />1.APPLICANT: KUKUI DEVELOPMENT, LLC (REZ 04-022) <br />Request for a 5-year time extension to comply with Condition C (complete construction of <br />92-unit Hale Nanea Condominium) of Ordinance No. 05-74, which rezoned approximately <br />6.27 acres of land from a Resort-Hotel-1,250 square foot per unit (V-1.25) and an <br />Agricultural-1 acre (A-1a) zoning districts to a Multiple Family Residential–2,500 square foot <br />per unit (RM-2.5) zoning district. The property is located along the south side of Hualālai <br />Road, approximately 1,100 feet mauka from the Hualālai Road-Kuakini Highway intersection, <br />thst <br />Hienaloli 6 and ‘Auhaukea‘ē 1, North Kona, Hawai‘i, TMK: 7-5-009:067. <br /> <br />The Commission took up this item at 9:33 a.m. with approximately ten people from the public in <br />attendance. <br /> <br />(SEE EXHIBIT A) <br /> <br /> <br />1 <br /> <br /> <br />
