<br /> <br /> <br />WINDWARD PLANNING COMMISSION <br />COUNTY OF HAWAI‘I <br /> <br />HEARING TRANSCRIPT <br /> OCTOBER 1, 2015 <br /> <br /> NIMR TAMIMI (REZ 15-191) <br />A regularly advertised hearing on the application of was called <br />to order at 9:03 a.m. in the County of Hawai‘i Aupuni Center Conference Room, 101 Pauahi <br /> <br />Street, Hilo, Hawai‘i with Chairman Myles Miyasato presiding. <br /> <br />COMMISSIONERS PRESENT: Myles Miyasato, Charles Heaukulani, Gregory Henkel, Donald <br />Ikeda, and Raylene Moses. <br /> <br />ABSENT & EXCUSED: Donn Dela Cruz. <br /> <br />ALSO PRESENT: Duane Kanuha (Planning Director), Danny Patel (Deputy Corporation <br />Counsel for the Windward Planning Commission), Daryn Arai (Planning Program Manager), <br />Jeff Darrow (Staff Planner), Christian Kay (Staff Planner), and Sarah Hata-Finley (Commission <br />Secretary). <br /> <br />And approximately 10 people from the public in attendance. <br /> <br />APPLICANT: NIMR TAMIMI (REZ 15-191) <br />Application for a Change of Zone from Single Family Residential-10,000 square feet (RS-10) to <br />Neighborhood Commercial-20,000 square feet (CN-20) for 22,000 square feet of land. The <br />property is located on Manono Street, approximately 200 feet north from the intersection of <br />Kekūanaōa Street and Manono Street in Waiākea House Lots, Waiākea, South Hilo, Hawaii, <br />TMK: 2-2-034:083. <br /> <br />MIYASATO: First on today’s agenda is applicant, Nimr Tamimi. <br /> <br />DARROW: Good morning, members of the Planning Commission. <br /> <br />MIYASATO: Good morning. <br /> <br />DARROW: Welcome. Hopefully not a long day today. We can hope. <br /> <br />Our first applicant is Nimr Tamimi. He is requesting a Change of Zone. The area of this <br />application and subject property is within the North Hilo District of Hawaiʽi. More specifically, <br />we’re looking in the area of the Waiākea Houselots. Just for reference, this is Kekūanāoʽa, and <br />this is Manono Street, and the subject property is identified with a black outline. <br /> <br />This is a closer view showing our County zoning.
