Retired and Senior Volunteer Program <br /> <br />RSVP Honors West Hawai‘i Volunteers <br />Volunteers from Kohala to Hawaiian Ocean View Estates were recognized for their <br />many hours of volunteerism on February 6th at the King Kamehameha Kona Beach <br />Hotel. Last fiscal year volunteers served at government and private non-profit agencies <br />and totaled more than 163,500 hours of service. <br /> <br />Our old-time volunteers: Shizue Kato(31 yrs.), Ida Lum(28 yrs.), Rose Rosimo(27 yrs.), and Fumiko <br />Sugiyama(26 yrs.) Back row: Councilman, Pete Hoffman, Senior Corps State Director, Laurie Cannady <br />and Parks & Recreation Director, Robert Fitzgerald. The volunteers are all from North Kohala. A long <br />life and a long career in volunteerism awaits those who live in Kohala. <br /> <br />25 Year Volunteers: Misae Tokunaga and Kimie Masuda. A milestone in volunteerism. <br />Congratulations. Each received $50 in cash from the RSVP Advisory Council. <br /> <br />Our over 20 year volunteers: Shigeru Oshita(23), Joe Asai(23), Scott Asai(22) and Jane Oshita(22). <br />Mahalo for all the wonderful years.
