a steady stream of those from Hilo, Oahu and <br />California. Most appear to be vacant land owners <br />that have decided to build new single family homes <br />and making our community their new home as <br />oppose to renting out new homes after being built <br />as was the case in the last decade. We also have <br />noted a larger number of younger school aged <br />children in the area and daily school buses have <br />almost doubled on our road way. <br />In recent years (2013 to 20 15) the Mountain View <br />Planning ad hoc committee for the PCDP Action <br />Committee held many community meetings and <br />have polled our residents. <br />It has been brought to our attention in a very loud <br />manner on several occasions that most of the older <br />land owners now in Mountain View designated <br />community village center boundary with existing <br />Residential Zoning adamantly opposed any <br />proposal to change existing zoning or up zone in <br />anyway. <br />However several larger land owners along South <br />Lauko which is located as stated adjacent to the <br />current Mountain View boundary have voiced <br />interest and want to be included in future <br />planning of designated commercial and or light <br />industrial zoning as an option they can exercise. <br />All of the existing services, post office, library, out <br />door recreation area, gymnasium, senior center, <br />churches and schools are within walking distance. <br />This request for expanding the boundary will add <br />to the walkability concept we all favor. <br />Again this area is centrally located in our <br />
