Review and make a motion to approve the updated project proposals from last <br />92 <br />year for inclusion in Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) and forward <br />93 <br />recommendations to the director. <br />94 <br />95 <br />Faye Yates made a motion to approve the letter to forward recommendations to <br />96 <br />the director and Jack Hoyt seconded the motion. There were four votes in favor <br />97 <br />and one abstention by Lani Eugenio, and the motion was not carried. <br />98 <br />99 <br />D. <br />Review and make a motion to approve the letter to the director regarding the <br />100 <br />request for the Action Committee to resume meeting monthly. <br />101 <br />102 <br />Jack Hoyt made a motion to approve the letter to forward recommendations to <br />103 <br />the director and Richard Elliott seconded the motion. There were four votes in <br />104 <br />favor and one abstention by Lani Eugenio, and the motion was not carried. <br />105 <br />106 <br />E. <br />The Action Committee discussed action steps for Strategy 4.9 of the NKCDP: <br />107 <br />Increase Awareness of Healthcare Services in Kohala. <br />108 <br />109 <br />Faye Yates reported that services in healthcare is limited in North Kohala. It <br />110 <br />was discussed briefly by the AC and it was mentioned that the healthcare issues <br />111 <br />were previously addressed by the former infrastructure subcommittee of the <br />112 <br />NKCDP AC and that this item needs further research. It was suggested that an <br />113 <br />investigatory subcommittee be created to gather information and report back <br />114 <br />to the Action Committee. <br />115 <br />116 <br />A motion was made by Faye Yates to create an investigatory subcommittee to <br />117 <br />research healthcare services in Kohala with Faye Yates and Lani Eugenio on the <br />118 <br />subcommittee. Lani Eugenio seconded the motion, and the motion was carried <br />119 <br />unanimously. <br />120 <br />121 <br />V. <br />SUBCOMMITTEE REPORTS <br />122 <br />A. <br />Growth Management: Report by Richard Elliott <br />123 <br />Mr. Elliott said there were no new applications and no report. <br />124 <br />125 <br />B. <br />Public Access: No report. <br />126 <br />127 <br />C. <br />Water, Parks, and Roads: Report by John Winter <br />128 <br />129 <br />Mr. Winter reported that the subcommittee met with the Department of Parks <br />130 <br />and Recreation regarding trees at Kamehameha Park and are looking at better <br />131 <br />communication. The subcommittee will also be meeting with regularly with the <br />132 <br />supervisor of the parks to discuss Kohala park projects and operations. Mr. <br />133 <br />Winter reported that there were 40 members of the public that attended this <br />134 <br />meeting about the trees being cut at Kamehameha Park. It was learned at the <br />135 <br />meeting that maintenance of the Tulip and Norfolk pine trees required some <br />136 <br />cutting of the trees and that there are efforts to get trees replanted, possibly by <br />
