PCDP Objective and Action Alignment Table <br />Non -County Develop a centrally -located, 24-hour, full-service medical facility, with trauma care, in Puna. <br />Action Establish multiple clinic level facilities offering primary medical and dental services in village <br />centers in Upper and Lower Puna. Expand existing County -funded transportation services to carry <br />people from subdivisions to medical facilities. <br />13 <br />(May 2013 -April 2014 Annual Report) o <br />PCMC has received donations from: Nanawale CA <br />($1,000) and Hawaiian Beaches CA ($1,293) to support <br />the Building Fund for its proposed Emergency Room. <br />o PCMC received $5,000 from Councilman Zendo Kern's <br />contingency fund to help defray the costs of planning <br />and permitting. <br />o A State Grant -in -Aid application to fund the planning <br />and permitting costs of the PCMC emergency room <br />resulted in a $750,000 award, which has not yet been <br />released. <br />o A Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI) was issued <br />in June 2014 for the Final Environmental Assessment <br />submitted for the use of State Land for the proposed <br />relocation of the Puna Community Medical Center. A <br />lease has not yet been finalized. <br />o Over 35,000 patient visits have been documented <br />since 2009. <br />(Nov. 2008 -March 2011 Progress Report) <br />Puna Community Medical Center, a non-profit, has <br />opened in the Pahoa Marketplace. <br />• Kea'au Urgent Care clinic opened in Kea'au village. <br />• Need for transportation to go to <br />medical appointments, maintaining <br />recreational facilities. <br />Infrastructure is needed and <br />expensive. Need better <br />connectivity & emergency <br />response. <br />• Wants the PCMC expansion <br />project advanced. Full service <br />medical center- Hilo too far <br />
