No work shall be <br />done at night unless permission is obtained as set forth in the above paragraph. <br />8 O'fl PA__ I�FTFOR COUNTY INSPECTION SERVICE - In addition to complying <br />wih theVEHIadministrative requirements as stated in Subsection 8.2 for overtime <br />work and payment, the Contractor must pay for the required overtime inspectional <br />services rendered by the County unless otherwise instructed in the contract. <br />Should permission to work overtime or at nights or on any such day be <br />granted by the Engineer, or if work requiring overtime compensation for County <br />employees is necessary as a result of the Contractor's scheduled operations, <br />whether this work occurs on or away from the project site, the Contractor shall <br />reimburse the Department the cost of engineering and inspection necessary for the <br />proper execution find control of the work. The costs chargeable to the Contractor <br />shall include the following: <br />(a) <br />The cost of salaries for the engineering and inspectional personnel <br />as determined by the County in accordance with the Overtime Work <br />Regulations, Part III, Rule 3: Sections 3.i to 3.7, inclusive of <br />the County Personnel Ruj s d Regulations dated September 9, 1969, <br />as amended. In addition to the cost of the salaries as determined <br />above, the Contractor shall reimburse the County's share of <br />contributions to the employees' retirement, medical plan, social <br />security, vacation, sick leave, workmen's compensation funds•, per <br />diem, and other applicable fringe benefits and overhead expenses. <br />(b) The transportation cost incurred by the Department employees <br />in connection with the engineering and inspectional work. <br />The flat rate for overtime charges covering (a) and (b) above shall <br />be set at $13.00 per hour in conformance to Ordinance No. 336 (1970), <br />Inspection costs. <br />The monies due the Department for engineering and inspectional work and <br />use of vehicles and equipment as determined hereinabove shall be billed <br />separately or deducted from the monies due or to become due the Contractor. <br />In any event, the Contractor shall not pay the Department employees directly. <br />Any hours worked in excess of the normal eight (8) working hours per day <br />or on Saturdays, Sundays or legal holidays will not be considered a working <br />day under the provisions of Article 7.1 "LAWS TO BE OBSERVEDi4 of these <br />specifications. <br />(0) <br />The County hereby reserves the right to cancel the overtime, night, <br />Saturday, Sunday or legal holiday work when in -the opinion of the Engineer, <br />there is no necessity for such work or when such work is detrimental to <br />progress of the work. <br />No overtime work will be done by the Contractor without the presence of <br />at least one authorized County Inspector unless otherwise directed by the <br />Engineer. <br />Section 8 <br />Page 38 <br />
