No contractor's license or a contractor's license which does not <br />cover type of work contemplated. <br />7. More than one proposal for the same work from an individual, firm, <br />partnership, corporation or joint venture under the same or <br />different name. <br />8. For delivery of bids after the deadline for receiving bids. <br />2.2 INTERPRETATION OF + U, aTITIES IN BID SCHEDULE - When quantities for <br />individual items of work are listed in the proposal form for which respective <br />unit prices are asked, said quantities are to be considered as approximate and <br />are to be used by the Department only for the purpose of comparing on a uniform <br />basis bids offered for the work and the undersigned agrees that be is satisfied <br />with and will at no time dispute said estimated quantities as a means of compar- <br />ing the bids. <br />After determining the low bidder by comparison of bids submitted in <br />accordance with the proposal form and Subsection 3.1 -'CONSIDERATION OF <br />PROPOSALS" in these specifications, the right is also especially reserved to <br />increase or decrease the scope of the improvement, subject to the provisions <br />of Subsection 4.2 - "CHANGE". <br />On UNIT PRICE bids, payment will be made only for the actual number of <br />units incorporated into the finished Project at the UNIT PRICE bid. <br />It is understood and agreed that the contractor will make no claim for <br />anticipated profit or loss of profit due to the Department's right to eliminate <br />entirely some or to increase or decrease any or all of the quantities shown in <br />the proposal form. <br />2.4 -EXAMINATION OF PLANS A sj7cIFIgAII2p7sAND. SITE OF WORK - The bidder shall <br />examine carefully the site of work contemplated and the proposal, plans, speci- <br />fications and contract form therefor. It will be assumed that the bidder has <br />investigated and is satisfied as to the conditions to be encountered, as to the <br />character, quality, and quantities of work to be performed and materials to be <br />furnished, and as to the requirements of these specifications and plans and <br />contract. <br />No extra compensation will be given by reason of the Contractor's <br />misunderstanding or lack of knowledge of the requirements of the work to be <br />accomplished or the conditions to be encountered in performing the project or <br />by reason of the occurrence or discovery of unforseen developments or <br />conditions. <br />There an investigation of subsurface conditions has been made by the <br />Department in respect to foundation or other design, the bidders may inspect <br />the records of the Department as to such investigation, including examination <br />of samples, if any, at the office of the Engineer, Milo, Hawaii. <br />Section 2 <br />Page 6 <br />
