We are presently working on better connectivity for our laptop
computers used by officers so that they can do reports at the present sub-station in
Ocean View. Once connectivity is achieved, officers can spend more time in this area
instead of driving down to Naalehu to complete reports.
There is no present plan to build a new substation in the Ocean View area. As far as
crime in that area, Ocean View receives a considerable amount of police attention, way
more than any average subdivision. It is not only patrolled by the Ka'u Police, it is also
the center of projects by the Special Enforcement Unit and the Area II Vice Section.
We will continue to run projects and patrol this area in order to maintain crime.
Should you have any questions, please contact Major Robert Wagner of our Area II
Operations at 326-4646, extension 249.
Sincerely,
PAUL K. FERREIRA
POLICE CHIEF
"Hamad County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer
