CUSTOMIZED BEST PRACTICES EXECUTIVE SUMMARY <br /> The following is a list of best practices for County of Hawai'i as determined by the information found <br /> in the Certified Blue Zones Worksite Assessment Report. These best practices are tailored to the <br /> County's unique environment. After you identify pledge actions to complete and have signed the <br /> Executive Summary, please follow the detailed how and why information (starting on page 10)and <br /> document your activities along the way. This documentation is an important component of the <br /> validation document due at the end of the project. <br /> MANDATORY PLEDGES: <br /> 1. Host an all-company Blue Zones Project kickoff event. <br /> 2. All executive leaders and 25 percent of people leaders must complete a Leading for Well-Being <br /> workshop. <br /> 3. All minimum Blue Zones Project engagement metrics must be met, including 1,361 employees <br /> must sign the Blue Zones Project Personal Pledge, 1,361 employees must complete the annual <br /> digital survey, 680 employees must participate in and complete a 10-week Moai, and 680 em- <br /> ployees must attend a Purpose Workshop that includes volunteer opportunities. <br /> WORK COMMUNITY <br /> Select four of six: <br /> ❑ Engage nearby restaurants to improve the food environment around your worksite. Work with <br /> at least five restaurants and eateries within walking distance of the Aupuni Street location to <br /> become Blue Zones Project Approved. <br /> ❑ Create a community supported agriculture(CSA) program with vendors and local farmers to sell <br /> fresh produce to employees at the Aupuni Street location. <br /> ❑ Work with state government employees to establish a weekly farmers market or open market <br /> on state office property next door to the Aupuni Street location. <br /> ❑ Implement a comprehensive transportation policy. <br /> ❑ Connect with the community by creating volunteer opportunities. <br /> ❑ Promote the walkability of routes near COI I grounds. <br /> SOCIAL NETWORK <br /> Select four of seven: <br /> ❑ Leverage existing communication methods to highlight Blue Zones Project events and activities. <br /> ❑ Develop a company-wide well-being advisory committee that meets monthly. Host a series of <br /> plant-based cooking classes that consists of 4-6 classes each quarter. <br /> 7 . <br />
