❑ Offer and promote ongoing COH-sponsored activities that support natural movement and team <br /> building. <br /> ❑ Implement an activity that regularly connects employees with leaders and department heads. <br /> ❑ Offer bi-weekly cooking classes and healthy food demonstrations. <br /> ❑ Create a community garden at the Aupuni Street location or on county building grounds. <br /> WORK ENVIRONMENT <br /> Select six of eight: <br /> ❑ Develop a well-being brand and campaign through which best practices and success stories <br /> are shared. <br /> ❑ Adopt and enforce a tobacco-free-campus policy(including use of e-cigarettes). <br /> ❑ Adopt and enforce a healthy vending policy that meets Blue Zones Project Healthy Food Guidelines. <br /> ❑ Create environmental and policy changes in the food environment that make the healthy choice <br /> the easy choice. <br /> ❑ Create environmental and policy changes that promote natural movement at COH facilities. <br /> ❑ Hold three COH-sponsored well-being events per year. <br /> ❑ Explore and identify easily accessible areas that can be repurposed for use by all employees. <br /> ❑ Schedule ergonomic education classes. <br /> PURPOSE <br /> Select two of three: <br /> ❑ Offer ongoing onsite developmental workshops, seminars, and/or lunch-and-learns to all <br /> employees. <br /> ❑ Create a consistent mission statement and communicate it clearly to all employees. <br /> ❑ Administer a personality assessment to all new employees to establish meaningful and purposeful <br /> connections between new hires and the COH culture of well-being. <br /> On behalf of the County of Hawai'i, we commit to improving the well-being of our organization and <br /> becoming a Certified Blue Zones Worksite.We recognize that creating a culture of well-being takes <br /> leadership, time, resources, and the appropriate budget.
