I have no authority on my pay or anybody's pay. <br />3 It is the collective bargaining system and what you do. <br />4 So with all that, from the unfairness, you <br />5 ask questions <br />when was -- <br />of the attorneys who -- if <br />6 any attorneys <br />up here -- <br />Bill, I know you're an <br />7 attorney by education <br />-- <br />to do something that I <br />8 consider very <br />important <br />for all the people of this <br />9 island, of the <br />Corporation <br />Counsel, to make sure we <br />10 have wise people up there, good people up there, and <br />11 hopefully some of them to make this a career, a <br />12 government attorney as a career, because it takes time <br />13 to learn of all the things you need to learn. And to <br />14 learn that those that still serve and left, some of <br />15 them we did not give them a $1 raise for ten years, I <br />16 mean, how many of us would have tolerated that? And <br />17 this is why initially what I was going to come and talk <br />18 to you about changes as the more and more you think <br />19 <br />about <br />it, the consequences of <br />what you say, and ask of <br />20 <br />you to <br />consider, who are just <br />volunteers. <br />21 I know we've lost some good attorneys.
