I <br />3 don't know if <br />it was the <br />Salary Commission. <br />4 But <br />that's the <br />background to this. And <br />5 because of that, <br />I just <br />recall how neat it was to <br />6 become an EM. <br />So, with <br />that, this proposal that I've <br />7 created is just based my recollection of those years. <br />8 So, to address the future issue of salary adjustments <br />9 for these positions, we looked at and we discovered <br />10 there are three separate categories. There are elected <br />11 officials, which are the mayor, council members, <br />12 prosecuting attorney. And then there are -- the second <br />13 group would be the officials appointed by the mayor or <br />14 the council, which would include the managing director <br />15 and deputy, planning director and deputy, public works <br />16 director and deputy, and you can read going down the <br />17 line over there. Of course, for the county council, it <br />18 would be the county clerk and the deputy. The rest <br />19 all, I think, fall under the mayor's jurisdiction. <br />20 Then there's a third group of officials appointed by <br />21 commissions. So this would be -- the police chief <br />22 reports to the Police Commission, the fire chief, the <br />23 Human Resources reports to -- is it still called Civil <br />24 Service Commission? <br />25 MR.
