IX. New Business <br /> <br />a) Meeting with Mayor Kim – Chair Kosaki met with Mayor Kim to discuss goals and <br />objectives of the LEPC and the continued support needed from the county. Mayor Kim <br />was receptive to the information and assured Chair Kosaki that someone from HCCDA <br />will participate as an active member of his administration. <br />b) EOP/ERP – Statewide the counties are reviewing their EOP and ERPs. While the EOP <br />functions countywide, the ERP is specific to agencies. Tetra Tech was hired to review, <br />assess and revise the county’s documents. They will provide an initial draft within the <br />next few months. LEPC member T. Aruga will convene a committee to review the draft <br />changes and report back to the committee. The start to completion process is estimated <br />at 6 months. <br />c) Proposed legislature Tier II fee increase – HB 1110 and SB 976 was introduced this year <br />to raise the Tier II fee from $100.00 to $200.00. The increase in fees is designed to help <br />responders address HAZMAT preparedness and response. Both House and Senate bills <br />received positive testimony in full support of moving it forward. <br />d) J. Bowen reported someone’s family pet died from rat poison and is concerned about the <br />storage of hazardous materials in the community. First responders should be cautious <br />when responding to incidents. <br /> <br />X. Next meeting: Chair Kosaki will send out an email on the next proposed meeting date. <br /> <br />XI.
