Taniguchi: Since none, all those in favor of closing public hearing signify by saying,
"Aye."
The Commissioners voted "Aye."
Taniguchi: Those opposed, "Nay."
There was no opposition by the Commissioners.
Taniguchi: Motion carried.
The motion was carried unanimously.
Taniguchi: May I have a motion to approve or deny Application No. 17-26, pending final
inspection?
Onizuka: Move to approve Application No. 17-26, pending final inspection.
Taniguchi: Any second?
Greenwell: Second.
Mr. Onizuka moved to approve Application No. 17-26,
WHR LLC, dba Grand Naniloa Hotel, A Double Tree by Hilton,
Application for Increase in Licensed Premises to its Hotel liquor
license to include entire parcel of TMK: 2-1-001:012, also known
as the Naniloa Golf Course, located at 120 Banyan Drive, Hilo,
Hawaii, pending final inspection; seconded by Mr. Greenwell.
Taniguchi: Discussion, Members?
Lopez: I heard what the Commissioners had to say, the history of this, and about the
brand. I have a lot of respect for the people that came to talk, for the history they've got,
and for the dedication they've placed in improvement of that area. I think we have to set
a restriction on the...just on the golf course, excluding the parking lot. I didn't read that
that was part of it. The license is for the golf course and they're suggesting to 6:00 P.M.
think that satisfies most parties.
Taniguchi: Til the sun goes down probably.
Lopez: Well, 6:00 P.M. is 6:00 P.M. I really strongly suggest...l'm not sure what the
appropriate time to amend the motion...that we restrict it to 6:00 P.M., as they've
(inaudible).
Chu: As in the Application.
Lopez: And if I need to make a motion to amend the motion, please advise.
May 3, 2018 — LIQUOR COMMISSION MINUTES 23
