<br />RAY: Okay. Steve.
<br />BESS: Well, number one is that even though we may have the technology to be scanning all of the past
<br />minutes and then indexing them, I don’t think that’s necessary, and I think it’s beyond the scope of this
<br />Commission.
<br />And secondly, you know, if you have an issue that you say, hey, this is worthwhile researching, then we
<br />can direct someone to go back and pull up all of that on a specific issue basis. So I think we’ve got to
<br />play it by feel rather than, you know, come up with a set policy about what we’re going to do. But I
<br />would definitely be against indexing all past minutes, even though it might be kind of nice for Mr.
<br />Wurdeman but -.
<br />WURDEMAN: It would be nice for the future.
<br />BESS: Yeah, it would be. It would be nice.
<br />RAY: Yeah. Yeah. George.
<br />MARTIN: Yeah, I happen to agree with Mr. Bess that as things come up is when we’re going to have to
<br />look at them, and if, in fact, there is some precedence set that it wasn’t passed the last time or it was
<br />passed, that’s when we should look at it. And as far as touching on putting everything into a scanner and
<br />put in the computer as was being mentioned earlier, doesn’t really come under our jurisdiction to do, but
<br />it should be done by the County at some time because it is information that possibly could get lost
<br />and/or wasted and that would be a shame, yeah. But I don’t think we should be addressing that.

<br />HIGASHI: Okay, should we get back into kind of forming what kind of person we want? I think we all
<br />agree, I think that the majority agrees we don’t need to go back to the old files as much as possible but -.
<br />HERKES: Yeah.
<br />HIGASHI: Kind of frameworking what kind of person we want.
<br />RAY: Well, I’d like to see -.
<br />HERKES: Go ahead.
<br />RAY: You know, somebody with, you know, some independent thinking skills that could, you know,
<br />kind of take a, you know, commonsense approach at, you know, kind of looking at what’s there and kind
<br />of figuring out, you know, at a first pass, you know, what’s, you know, a way to get a synopsis, a feel, a
<br />summary of it or whatever rather than, you know, somebody that’s just going to say, you know, January
<br />1976, da-da-da-da. You know, that really goes through. And then also somebody that maybe we could,
<br />you know, give them the initiative, you know, we mentioned, you know, talking to other people or, you
