Not quite so fast. <br />RAY: They spent enough time on these guys yesterday. <br />MARTIN: Yes, but what’s the answer? <br />SANTANGELO: This is more to the Commission. Help me understand. ‘Review the operations’. <br />KUROZAWA: You were here at the last meeting, weren’t you? <br />SANTANGELO: Yes, I was. I was here, believe it or not. <br />YUEN: Yes, that’s the amendment. <br />RAY: We’ve talked this one out. <br />SANTANGELO: I know. Okay, never mind. <br />RAY: Okay. <br />9. Should the water commission be renamed the water board, and one board member be a resident of <br />each council district? <br />SANTANGELO: Right, nothing wrong with that. <br />RAY: 10. Should the salary commission set the compensation for all appointed directors and deputy <br />directors of departments and executive agencies? <br />11. Should there be a cost of government commission to promote improvements to the economy and <br />efficiency of government? <br />IRVINE: I just want to say again I think, somehow, we need to say ‘appointed every four years’ or ‘ad <br />hoc’ or something to indicate that this isn’t a commission that’s there day in, day out, 24 hours a day. <br />MARTIN: (indiscernible) like we do. <br />IRVINE: Yes, ad hoc is just once, or I don’t know quite how to say it but maybe it doesn’t matter if we <br />explain that in our – <br />RAY: It is explained in the Digest. <br />HERKES: It is in the Digest and I think you just confuse it if you – <br />IRVINE: All right, yes. It’s okay. <br />RAY: Okay. <br />12.
