We always have the choice to revisit it, and if some new startling <br />information, that got us all excited and wanted to get us back on that track, it would <br />have to be probably pretty quickly, but we could always revisit that. <br />HIGASHI: So we're going to vote not pursue? <br />SANTANGELO: Table. <br />IRVINE: Vote to not pursue. Is that on your motion? <br />IRVINE: That's what my motion was, right. <br />RAY: So, all in favor of not pursuing the Council Manager form of <br />government at this point, say aye. <br />• 9 COMMISSIONERS: Aye. <br />RAY: Opposed? <br />HERKES: Nay. <br />RAY: Let the record show one opposed. <br />Is it okay with folks if we just proceed down the list - <br />COMMISSIONERS: Yes. <br />RAY: Or is that it makes more sense than other? <br />In terms of the council make-up, Roland has passed out some information today. <br />HIGASHI: At the Honokaa meeting, this issue surfaced and I was responsible <br />for putting something in writing that we could, kind of, look at, and either accept, <br />amend, or reject. So this is the proposal that I have, composed of nine members. We'd <br />have six districts, three members elected at -large. The members that would be at - <br />large would serve four years. The members that are running from their districts would <br />serve a term of two years, and at this point in time, we still have the term limit in there, <br />not to exceed eight consecutive years. And if needed, we drafted a Reapportionment <br />Commission statement. The present language may be sufficient, but it was drawn up <br />6 <br />
