Financial Status Report: As of 12/31/99, we have the two fund balances; from last year's encumbered funds, $13,884.66, and from this budget year $80,852.98. So we're still in good shape but I wouldn't assume, necessarily, that there's going to be a lot of access money. I think the real expensive things; lots of public meetings and notices, and, of course, the whole issue of publicizing the final printing and distribution, and whatever, of all that, as well as our legal counsel. A whole lot of his work will be coming once we clear some of these items up, that we want to move forward with. Communications: We've received a number of communications; some internally from the County, and others from members of the public. We received a letter from Rudy Legaspi in regard to some language on Boards and Commissions. We received, from one our members, Gary Yoshiyama, a great piece of work on establishing a Fire Commission. Thank you, Gary. We received letters from Mr. Jim Otterson, Pat Lescher, PhD Bruce, Curtis Tyler, Tom Russi and Christine Paul; all dealing with the Council -Manager form of government. The ones from Mr.Tyler and Mr. Russi, we just got today. And basically, they're all in favor of the Council -Manager form of government. And, we also have a letter from Patrick Kahawaiola'a in regard to the letter that our Legal Counsel sent him, so we've got a response from that. So I just wanted to point those out. Unfinished Business: Committee Reports. Why don't we, since Jay is here, deal with this Environmental Committee. John, you're listed here as the presenter. You or Sue
