I 'm just reading from the Maui <br /> County Charter . I 'm just wondering how you would react to <br /> this provision perhaps being added to the Hawaii County <br /> Charter . This is the qualifications of the fire chief. <br /> The fire chief should be appointed and may:.be removed by the <br /> mayor . He shall have a minimum of 5 years (inaudible) . <br /> He shall have a minimum of 5 years of training, experience <br /> and fire prevention control in private industry or govern- <br /> mental service, at least 3 years of which shall be in a <br /> responsible administrative capacity. Those are the minimum <br /> qualifications . And that ' s pretty standard in the other <br /> county charters . Would you have any problem with that? <br /> BELLO: Well that ' s our standard here too. <br /> GREENWELL: It ' s not written in our Charter . <br /> JUVIK: It ' s not in our Charter . <br /> BELLO: No, it ' s not written in your Charter , no. <br /> JUVIK: You wouldn' t have any problem with that being <br /> in the Charter? <br /> BELLO: No problem.
