The County Board may establish the position of County Adm;nistrator and <br />select an individual solely on the basis of his training, experience, <br />and administrative qualifications. (This can be done in counties not <br />operating under the elected executive, county manager, or auditor admin- <br />istrator form.) The Administrator will he appointed for an indefinite <br />period and may be removed by the County Board at any tirr•,e providing that <br />after one year of service, the Administrator may demand written charges <br />and a public hearing on his dismissal.:Ari elected county officer <br />or appointed county employee must resign his current position <br />before assuming the duties of County Administrator. <br />2 The Administrator shall be the administrative head of the county and <br />responsible for administration of affairs of the county placed in his <br />charge. He shall exercise general supervision over all county instit- <br />utions and agencies and with the approval of the County Board, he shall <br />coordinate the various activities of the county and unify the management <br />and the budget of the county. If required by the County Board, <br />he may serve as head of a department if he is so qualified. <br />3. The Administrator shall exercise the personnel responsibility of the <br />County Board prescribed by general law and may make appointments to <br />other offices, committees and hoards as directed by the County Board. <br />14. <br />The Administrator attends all meetings of the County Board and recomm- <br />ends measures for adoption as he deems advisable.. <br />5. The Administrator may examine the books and reports of officers and <br />departments as directed by the County Board. <br />rrx 6.
