He called me this morning and said that he hadif_ <br /> notified you that he would be unable to attend the meeting <br /> this afternoon because of business and he asked that I , since <br /> I advise the Board of Ethics, . . .and my name, by the way, is <br /> Roxanna Garcia, I am Assistant Corporation Counsel, an <br /> assistant to Stephen Bess. One of the boards which I advise <br /> is the Board of Ethics. . .-and he asked that I appear for him <br /> to explain , if necessary, his memorandum to you dated <br /> February 9, 1979, and that any questions you might have I <br /> will make note of. If I can answer them without a conflict <br /> from the perspective of my employment as a member of the <br /> corporation counsel , I will answer the questions. But if I <br /> cannot, I will make note of them and perhaps Mr. Miyashiro, <br /> at a later time, could come back and testify before you. <br /> MR. TRULSON: Ms. Garcia, we:lre a little <br /> confused by his letter in that we don ' t have a copy of the <br /> County Code. So, it is hard for us to refer to what the <br /> different sections he is talking about like 5-C, 8A, 8B. <br /> MS. GARCIA: I wasn 't aware that Mr. Miyashiro <br /> was going to use the County Code references. The language is <br /> almost identical to the Charter. The Code of Ethics in the <br /> Charter begins on page 36 and the subsections under Section <br /> 14-2 which are described as Standards are those sections <br /> which are the Code of Ethics as enumerated separately as <br /> required by Charter. <br /> -7- <br />
