MRS. IWAMOTO: I second the motion. <br /> CHAIRMAN SAKATA: All those in favor? All <br /> opposed. Motion carried. <br /> LEGAL MR. ISHIDA: Regarding our counsel. The <br /> COUNSEL: corporation counsel informed me that his <br /> contract has to go through the council for <br /> approval . So what they want from us is just <br /> a letter from the commission to the council saying that we <br /> request that his contract be approved. It is just a matter <br /> of formality. <br /> CHAIRMAN SAKATA: To the County Council? <br /> MR. ISHIDA: To the County Council. It is a <br /> matter of all contracts. The corporation counsel is now re- <br /> drafting the contract for our legal counsel . <br /> I move that the commission recommend to the <br /> County Council our hiring of Stuart Oda as our legal counsel <br /> for the duration of the commission and that they approve the <br /> contract as it is forwarded to them by the corporation counsel . <br /> MR. SCHUTTE : I second the motion. <br /> CHAIRMAN SAKATA: It has been moved and <br /> seconded that we send a letter to the County Council informing <br /> them that Mr. Stuart Oda has been hired as legal counsel for <br /> the Charter Review Commission and to approve of his appoint- <br /> ment as legal counsel for the commission. All those in favor? <br /> Any opposition? None.
