HAWAII COUNTY CHARTER COMMISSION <br /> MINUTES <br /> 31st Session <br /> August 20, 1979 <br /> Hilo, Hawaii <br /> The thirty-first session of the Hawaii County Charter <br /> Commission was called to order at 4:08 p.m. in the Hawaii <br /> County Councilroom, Hawaii County Building, Hilo, Hawaii by <br /> Mr. Kimiaki Sakata, Chairman. <br /> The roll recorded the following: <br /> Present: Mr. Harlan Cadinha <br /> Mr. Richard Ishida <br /> Mrs. Amy Iwamoto <br /> Mrs. Gloria Kobayashi <br /> Mr. Akira Omonaka <br /> Mr. Kimiaki Sakata <br /> Mr. Spencer Kalani Schutte <br /> Mr. Herman Sensano <br /> Mr. Joseph Trulson <br /> Mr. Matsuo Yanaga <br /> Mr. Basilio Yagong <br /> Also Mr. Stuart Oda, Attorney <br /> Present: Mr. Yasuki Arakaki, Deputy County Clerk <br /> Ms. Frances Higa, Research Assistant <br /> Mrs. Joan Carnett, Secretary <br /> APPROVAL Motion was made to defer approval <br /> OF MINUTES: of minutes dated August 14, 1979, <br /> until the commission has had the <br /> opportunity to read them; by <br /> Mrs. Kobayashi. Seconded by <br /> Mr. Schutte and unanimously carried. <br /> COMMUNI- The following communications were considered: <br /> CATIONS: <br /> Comm. 88: Letter from Richard T. Ishida, Charter Commission <br /> member, dated August 11, 1979, requeg-ting action <br /> on Section 3-2, Article III be deferred due to <br /> his inability to attend scheduled meeting. <br /> Comm. 89: Letter from Walt Southward, dated August 10, 1979, <br /> regarding the educational program on the proposed <br /> charter amendments. <br />
