Permit; fee. <br />(a) All responsible persons, eighteen years of age or older, shall be allowed to secure a <br />permit on their own to sell their products and wares grown, produced or made on <br />the island of Hawai`i in any of the designated farmers market sites subject to <br />policies, rules and regulations established by the director. Permits shall be issued <br />on a first-come, first-served basis and shall be based upon a fee of $5 per day. Each <br />permit shall identify the permittee, the specific market space and site and the <br />date(s) of said permit. <br />(b) No permit shall be issued for more than five consecutive days, nor shall any person <br />be granted a permit for more than fifteen days in any given calendar month. The <br />holder of a farmers market permit shall, upon request, show the permit to any law <br />enforcement officer, park caretaker, or any personnel of the department or any <br />administrator or manager contracted by the department therefor. <br />(c) Permit fees may be used by the department to enter into an agreement with a <br />nonprofit organization to administer and manage a farmers market program <br />and/or site. <br />(1993, ord 93-97, sec 1; am 2017, ord 17-54, sec 2.) <br />SUPP. 4 (7-2018) 15-27.1 <br />
