She <br />wants the commission to do medical review of the police training manual. <br />Deputy Corporation Counsel Hall stated that training is the Chief's decision. <br />Commissioners are here to listen to complaints, and could refer it to the Chief. <br />Recess was called at 9:35 a.m. The meeting reconvened at 9:42 a.m. <br />Ms. Pelayo suggested changes: <br />• Page 7 (h) Burden of Proof, change the wording to "refer to the Chief for further <br />investigation" to be consistent with the wording in Rule 6. <br />• Page 9, Rule13, change 10 days to 20 to allow more time to obtain records. <br />• Suggested that non -substantive changes such as correcting formats, typos, <br />punctuation, and grammatical errors be allowed. <br />Ms. Hall stated that the seal has never been used. The commission does not use the <br />classification guidelines. They don't determine the misconduct (police department does). <br />Commissioner Paiva motioned to allow the changes that Ms. Pelayo suggested. <br />Commissioner Hu seconded, and it carried unanimously. <br />Chair Hendricks stated that these rule changes will be brought forward to the Police <br />Commission's meeting which will follow this hearing. <br />The hearing was adjourned at 9:47 a.m. <br />August 28, 2018: Submitted for posting by Josie Pelayo but not reviewed by commission. <br />
