b. Temporary Absence: Periods of time shorter than <br />one year during which a family member may be <br />absent from the unit. Examples of temporary <br />absences include time spent away at school, time <br />spent in foster care, staying with friends or <br />relatives, or serving in the military. <br /> c. The entire family cannot be absent from the unit <br />for more than four (4) consecutive weeks. Both <br />the landlord and OHCD shall be notified by the <br />family if the head of household will be <br />temporarily absent for more than ten (10) <br />consecutive days. If any other household members <br />are temporarily absent for more than 14 <br />consecutive days, OHCD and the landlord shall be <br />notified by the Head of Household or the Co-Head. <br />2. Adjusted Income: The Annual income less: <br />a. $480 for each dependent; <br />b. $400 for any elderly family or disabled family; <br />c. Un-reimbursed medical expenses for any Elderly <br />Family or Disabled Family and un-reimbursed <br />reasonable attendant care and auxiliary apparatus <br />expenses for a Person with Disabilities. <br />d. Any reasonable child care expenses necessary to <br />enable a member of the family to be employed or to <br />further his or her education. <br />3. Allowance for Utilities and Other Services: An amount <br />determined and allowed by the OHCD as an allowance for <br />the cost of utilities (except telephone and cable <br />television) and charges for other services payable <br />directly by the family. <br />4. Annual Income: The anticipated total annual income of <br />an eligible family from all sources for a 12-month <br />period following the date of determination of income, <br />computed in accordance with Part F, herein. <br />5. Applicant (Applicant Family): A family that has applied <br />for admission to the program and is on the waiting <br />list, or has been certified but has not yet executed a <br />HAP Contract. <br />6.
