ADAMS: I think the proper thing to do is, I may, I mentioned that we <br />would like to do that, but the proper way to get you the information that we are <br />looking for, is to actually send you a memo or a letter, so we'll do that. <br />MS. SCHOEN: Okay, thanks. <br />CHR. ADAMS: At this time, would like us to move on to our Department of <br />Information Technology. Is the Director here? Absolutely. That's great. I'll let <br />you say your name because I have not had the opportunity and great opportunity <br />necessarily to meet you. <br />c. Ms. Ung <br />presented a document for the record. See Charter Communication <br />No. 1.5) <br />MS. UNG: Good afternoon my name is Jules Ung. I am the Director of IT <br />(Information Technology) for Hawai`i County. Nice to meet you. <br />CHR. ADAMS: Thank you for being here. Absolutely. <br />MS. UNG: Thank you. <br />CHR. ADAMS: And since we have— a Commissioner just arrived, I'll just <br />repeat what I had said earlier on, what we are doing is allowing the presentation to <br />be complete and then we will ask our questions at that time. Thank you so much. <br />Please continue. <br />MS. UNG: So thank you for this opportunity to update our little section of the <br />Charter. I did have a handout with two pages. Underneath is the original Charter <br />and the top page is some of our proposed verbiage. Overall, we think that it was <br />very well written. We would just like to update some of the terminology and <br />concepts to reflect some more modern terminology and concepts. But in general, <br />it provides room for growth and expansion, and if you have any questions <br />regarding some of those proposed terms, we are happy to start that conversation. <br />CHR. ADAMS: May I ask, can you give us a brief synopsis of what your <br />department looks like and exactly what you do? <br />MS. UNG: Sure. So we have 21 staff in two divisions. Our networking division <br />oversees networking and shared services. So it's called systems support and <br />that's actually the County fiber as well as the servers, the switches, the hardware <br />of the County network.
