• Committee thanked Farrah's group from UH Student Support <br />Division led the printing of materials needed for the Real Women <br />Essay contest (letters, booklets, program directories) <br />• Total attendees included 14 rsvp 13 showed up, great venue, <br />service and program to honor winners, teachers and family <br />members <br />• 80 in attendance included winners and families <br />• Hawaii County Council Chair Woman Val Poindexter and County <br />Council member Sue Lee Loy attended. <br />C. Hawaii Island Women's Leadership Forum <br />A) October 19, 2018 Sheraton Keauhou <br />B) Meeting monthly; working on programs; working on keynote <br />speakers; save the dates will be sent out as soon as details <br />finalized <br />C) Theme: Courage to dream, rise to the challenge. Inspired by <br />Phoenix rising, correlation to lava flow and committee is seeking <br />scholarships to support attendees from affected lava flow areas <br />D. CSW Brochure <br />A) Table for next meeting. <br />ACTION: Farrah will email draft of CSW brochure prior to next meeting. <br />E. Cell Phone Safety Cards <br />A) Farrah will distribute to next meeting in July 2018. <br />F. Urgent Services Directory <br />A) Farrah shared log update, 3000 distributed to date <br />B) Shared process on how we update Urgent Services Directory <br />done in past years by UH Division of Student Affairs. Student in <br />Student Affairs helped to call all numbers for urgent services <br />directory. In future, if budget gets cut, printing of document may <br />not be possible, where we may need to seek additional funding <br />for partner support. Discussions to be placed online have <br />happened, but the hard copy is so important for families in need <br />G. Human Trafficking <br />A) Sub -committee has not met recently <br />B) Two educational presentations Hilo July 13, Waimea July 14th <br />Ho'oala Na Pua - organization on Oahu trying to fight Human <br />Trafficking <br />C) Encouraged CSW members to get educated so that we can <br />partner with Ho'oala Na Pua to pursue future projects and support <br />D) Mele shared that Tribune Herald is willing to do article but CSW <br />would need to find a person who had lived an experience with this <br />area <br />51 <br />
