Informal Presentation by Senator Russell E. <br />Ruderman <br />Senator Ruderman gave a presentation on Act 217 <br />relating to Service Animals. He informed the <br />Committee on his Bill that makes it a violation to <br />misrepresent a dog or animal, which is not a <br />service animal as a service animal. <br />c. Report of the County of Hawaii Office of <br />Aging Kimo Alameda budget overview <br />Dr. Kimo Alameda explained the budget to the <br />Committee members. <br />d. Panel Discussion by Housing and <br />Community Specialist Sharon Hirota, HOPE <br />Services Director of Operations Denise Oguma <br />and Ipo Morgan. <br />Sharon Hirota gave a presentation on County <br />Section 8 Housing, including shared housing and <br />the progress of the program. <br />Denise Oguma and Ipo Morgan of HOPE Services <br />shared their presentation with the Committee on <br />the services provided by HOPE Services. <br />e. Report of the County of Hawaii Opportunity <br />and ADA Coordinator Julie Rawlins. <br />Ms. Julie Rawlins introduced herself and read her <br />report to the Committee. <br />L Slate of Nominations for New Executive <br />Committee for positions of Secretary and Vice <br />Chair. <br />Chair Shirachi opened the floor up for Laina Torres was nominated as <br />nominations for both Secretary/Treasurer and Secretary/Treasurer and Ms. <br />Vice Chair.
