Page 5 <br />1 attended your meetings previously where we saw that <br />2 some of the entities within the County, no one had <br />3 looked at the salary structure for a decade or more, <br />4 that didn't make a lot of sense. It was not fair to the <br />5 people within that structure for them to be able to, <br />6 you know, keep their wage up to speed, especially with <br />7 their subordinates. <br />8 <br />So, I <br />think as far as we're <br />concerned, we <br />9 <br />really felt that <br />the Commission ought <br />to look at the <br />10 <br />schedule of when <br />subordinate positions <br />get increases <br />11 per the collective bargaining agreements, how far those <br />12 fall, and then take a look at those subordinate <br />13 <br />positions, how they <br />mesh with <br />the supervisors as far as <br />14 <br />the director/deputy <br />director <br />of the different <br />15 organizations within the County, and also at that time <br />16 take the opportunity to then compare those salaries <br />17 with neighboring counties, which is pretty much what <br />18 you did in the past, but just try to look at it as more <br />19 of a schedule instead of an almost crisis management is, <br />20 I think, what happened last time because it had been so <br />21 long since that had been done.
