RM. <br />74-5044 ANE KEOHOKALOLE HWY, KAILUA-KONA, HI <br />CALL TO ORDER <br />Chair Hendricks called the meeting to order at 9:06 a.m. <br />ROLL CALL <br />Present: Peter Hendricks, Chair <br />Arthur Buckman, Commissioner <br />Jak Hu, Commissioner <br />Paul Paiva, Commissioner <br />Colleen Pasco, Commissioner <br />Absent: Wayne De Luz, Vice Chair <br />Carl Carlson, Commissioner <br />A quorum was present <br />Also Present: Kenneth Bugado, Deputy Police Chief <br />James O'Connor, Assistant Chief <br />Mitchell Kanehailua, Assistant Chief <br />Brian Prudencio, Detective <br />Malia Hall, Deputy Corporation Counsel <br />Josie Pelayo, Secretary <br />APPROVAL OF AGENDA <br />Commissioner Paiva motioned to approve the agenda. Commissioner Pasco seconded, <br />and it carried unanimously. <br />STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS (None.) <br />APPROVAL OF MINUTES <br />Commissioner Paiva motioned to approve the minutes of October 19, 2018, regular and <br />executive session minutes. Commissioner Pasco seconded, and it carried unanimously. <br />POLICE CHIEF'S REPORT ON DEPARTMENT ACTIVITIES <br />Items from the written reports were briefly highlighted: <br />• Crime Report: Assistant Chief O'Connor reported that up through October 31, there <br />were 2,352 serious crimes. The Criminal Investigation Unit investigated 409 of those <br />cases. There were no crime trends. For the month of October, they received 6,881 <br />calls for service. <br />• Traffic Report: Assistant Chief O'Connor reported that 3,884 citations were issued in <br />October: Moving/regulatory 2,741, seatbelt 262, child restraint 17, and speeding 864. <br />
