Page 27 <br />1 at that, there's still four departments that we still <br />2 have inversion as it relates to the deputies' salaries. <br />3 So all of our department heads with this <br />4 proposed raise would be -- they would not be subject to <br />5 inversion, but we still would have four deputies who <br />6 would be subject to inversion. <br />7 So, that's the proposed. It's up to you. I <br />8 can't make a recommendation as to whether or not you <br />9 should pass the raises or approve the raises; all I can <br />10 do is provide you with information and, you, in your <br />11 individual capacity, discuss and you consider and you <br />12 make a determination as to what you are going to do. <br />13 I'm not saying we should grant raises; I'm just saying <br />14 in a comparison of what the other County employees are <br />15 making, this is where we would be. <br />16 CHR. ONO: Let me recapture something. <br />17 One of the reasons we did this is that the <br />18 Chair's opinion is that the Department of Human <br />19 Resources is the best source for this information, <br />20 being that he handles negotiations and other pay <br />21 scales. <br />22 The second thing that we wanted to do is the <br />23 intent of this is to discuss raises now that could <br />24 possibly go into effect the beginning of the next <br />25 fiscal year, which is July lst of 2019.
