Page 22 <br />1 MR. BRILHANTE: Well, it depends. If there's <br />2 duties and responsibilities that -- <br />3 MR. FRATINARDO: So, what if that overtime got <br />4 to the point where it caused an inversion to one of the <br />5 department heads? <br />6 MR. CAMPBELL: It would be short term. <br />7 MR. BRILHANTE: And that's where, oftentimes, <br />8 we do see inversion. There's no strict law, there's no <br />9 strict regulation, that there can't be inversion. And <br />10 we're talking about here the language itself is <br />11 "extraordinary demand." And you described a situation <br />12 that's extraordinary. I don't think it's the norm. <br />13 Last year we set the salary schedule for <br />14 department heads and deputies to insure that as a base <br />15 salary, we don't have the inversion issue, but I don't <br />16 think we can ever plan for every situation, every <br />17 circumstance, where there may be a potential for <br />18 inversion. <br />19 So, going forward, I think we have a great <br />20 salary structure right now. The discussion about <br />21 overtime I think is just something that maybe shouldn't <br />22 really be on the table, in my opinion. <br />23 CHR.
