PAVAO: But we do have control over the <br />4 other raises, and we recently gave huge raises to catch <br />5 up. <br />6 I think before we give any more raises, we <br />7 really should understand the County's finances. And <br />8 before we even consider anything, I would like to have <br />9 somebody from the County come and give us a good idea <br />10 of where the County stands as far as financial <br />11 situations. It's nice to give raises, and there's no <br />12 question in my mind that they deserve it, but I cannot <br />13 see this Commission giving raises at the detriment of <br />14 the County itself. So, before we do anything, I would <br />15 really like to see somebody from Finance Department <br />16 give us an idea of how this will affect -- you know, <br />17 the union wages will affect the County, definitely. <br />18 And we have no control, but we do have control in <br />19 everything else, and I think before we decide anything, <br />20 we need to understand where the County is. <br />21 CHAIR: Okay. Yeah. And I did ask if they <br />22 could come today. They said there's nothing new from <br />23 the last time they were here, so until they have more <br />24 solid numbers, no need for them to come here. <br />25 MR.
