Hunt <br />Deputy Director <br />..w:["w�y':Kj <br />�.,.rl,: <br />0 <br />Re: Provide Funds to Various Nonprofit Organizations through the Kilauea Recovery <br />Grant Program <br />The Planning Department wishes to provide $3,624,374 in grants to various 501(c)3 <br />nonprofit organizations in accordance with Hawaii County Code (2005 Edition as <br />amended) Chapter 2, Article 47. These grants will be used to provide disaster relief, <br />recovery, mitigation or remediation assistance for physical damages or losses suffered by <br />the 2018 Kilauea eruption. <br />Enclosed is a resolution authorizing the Planning Department to provide $3,624,374 to <br />these organizations, pursuant to Hawaii County Code (2005 Edition as amended) <br />Chapter 2, Article 25, Section 2-139(a)(3)(A). <br />The Planning Department requests that this resolution be waived from Finance <br />Committee and be placed on the October 7, 2020 Council agenda and that the 5 -day hold <br />be waived in order to expedite this process.
