COUNTY OF HAWAI `l7 <br />oJ�tY OF H,� <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />A. <br />T� OF A** <br />RESOLUTION NO. 37 21 <br />RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE OFFICE OF THE MAYOR TO <br />ENTER INTO AN AGREEMENT WITH THE DEPARTMENT OF LABOR <br />AND INDUSTRIAL RELATIONS, PURSUANT TO HRS 46-7, FOR A <br />WORKFORCE INNOVATION AND OPPORTUNITY ACT GRANT <br />WHEREAS, the Department of Labor and Industrial Relations Workforce <br />Development Council has authorized Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act <br />(WIOA) funds to be provided to the County of Hawaii; and <br />WHEREAS, the funds will be used to assist dislocated workers by providing <br />disaster relief education/training and humanitarian assistance employment in Hawaii <br />County; and <br />WHEREAS, Hawaii Revised Statutes, Section 46-7, requires that County <br />delpartments obtain the consent of the Council to enter into agreements with the <br />F1;..deral or State governments respecting action to be taken pursuant to any of the <br />powers granted by law to furnish, expend, and receive any funds or other assistance <br />in connection with projects being or to be undertaken pursuant to those powers; now, <br />therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII, in <br />ai;cordance with section 46-7, Flawai`i Revised Statutes, that the Mayor of the County <br />of Hawaii is authorized to execute, on behalf of the County, an agreement and related <br />documents with the State of Hawaii Department of Labor and Industrial Relations <br />V1,'orkforce Development Council, to enable the County to accept funds to be used as <br />indicated above. <br />
